Simultaneous Quantitative Detection of HCN and C2H2 in Combustion Environment Using TDLAS

Emission of nitrogen oxides (NOx) and soot particles during the combustion biomass fuels municipal solid waste is a major environmental issue. Hydrogen cyanide (HCN) acetylene (C2H2) are important precursors NOx particles, respectively. In current work, infrared tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (IR-TDLAS), as non-intrusive in situ technique, was applied to quantitatively measure HCN C2H2 environment. The P(11e) line first overtone vibrational band v1 at 6484.78 cm?1 P(27e) + v3 combination 6484.03 were selected. However, ubiquitous water vapor environment brings great uncertainty measurement. To obtain accurate temperature-dependent spectra between 6483.8 6485.8 cm?1, homogenous hot gas with controllable temperatures varying from 1100 1950 K provided by laminar flame employed perform systematic IR-TDLAS measurements. By fitting obtained spectra, interference measurement sufficiently mitigated concentrations obtained. technique simultaneously temporally resolved release over burning nylon 66 strips oxidizing 1790 K.
